Some films capture realities so difficult that they are necessarily important. When those realities are portrayed from a beautiful and human perspective, they enter the realm of being great art. That is how I feel about Paradise Now.
A powerful story of two childhood friends recruited for suicide bombing in Palestine, this film follows their decisions, their relationships, and their world.
Paradise Now is beautifully shot, excellently acted and well told by writer/director Hany Abu-Assad.
Go. Watch. Be moved.
