AMUSING OURSELVES TO DEATH is the provocative title of Neil Postman's infamous commentary on entertainment media and it's subsequent influence on American society. Written in 1985, its relevance only seems to increase over time. A far cry from simply being a pessimistic old man or luddite, Postman was willing to ask questions and challenge others to ask questions. Reading his work is at times like reading cultural prophecy.
I'd encourage you to read it, chew on it, discuss it and allow yourself to be pushed. Questioning what we do and why we do it is core to understanding who we are, who we are becoming, and who we have the potential to be.
